This morning Telstra deployed a mobile cell on wheels to the car park at Whitecross Rd shops. This was done in response to pressure on our existing mobile network.
The temporary structure will provide improvements in both voice and data connectivity reducing call drop outs and failed attempts to make calls.
Telstra Area General Manager Andrew Bogg said that the temporary tower will provide much needed capacity relief to the mobile network to better support all residents being able to make emergency calls should the need arise. Andrew has also recommended where you are able to that residents use a fixed line phone to provide further relief to the mobile network.
The mobile cell on wheels will be in place as long as there is increased pressure due to the fires
