One of the more inspiring donations we received just after the fires. A teacher and some students from the Ponds School dropped by with a cheque for us together with this beautifully framed Thank You. It now hangs proudly in our Station. Thank you to the teachers & students, it means a lot to us all.
The Ponds School is a newly established school for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities. Many of our students have additional disabilities, including autism, physical or sensory disabilities and/or emotional disturbance.
Currently the school is situated in the grounds of Riverstone High School with a soon to be purpose built school scheduled to be opened on The Ponds Boulevard at The Ponds in 2015.
It was opened in 2012 with 4 Kindergarten classes and quickly grew to 8 classes with students from Kindergarten to Year 3 in 2013. In 2014 it is expected that the school will include 12 classes and the move to the new premises will bring the school to 16 classes in 2015.
