WINMALEE RESIDENTS – Tomorrow nights (14/09/2012) Hazard Reduction will create large amounts of smoke in the Winmalee area. As this burn covers 85 hectares we recommend you keep your doors and windows shut, take washing of the line and if you have respiratory problems please stay Indoors. Winmalee RFB will be conducting (weather permitting) a large scale hazard reduction around the area of St Columbas to Shelton Ave Winmalee this Friday late afternoon. Today Winmalee 1B assisted other crews at a HR in Hazelbrook.

Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade with Bec S-ec and 3 others

Yesterday Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade celebrated 50 years of helping the community. 41 members recieved long service awards totaling 998 years of combined service. Congratulations to you all!

Today Winmalee 1A, Faulconbridge 7 and East 2 responded to reports of Bush alight in The Grose Valley. Further Appliances including Glenbrook 1, Warrimoo 1, Winmalee 1B, Winmalee PC, Valley Heights 1 and East 3 were called and staged at St Columbus High School. Upon Investigation it was found to be the HR burning within containment lines in the Hawkesbury District.

Yesterday Winmalee 1A, PC, RP445 & East 2 investigate a reported smoke column around Patterson Rd, Springwood. Nothing was found.
