Today Winmalee Pumper, 1A, 1B, PC, RP445 and T445 responded to a structure fire along Lee Rd, Winmalee. This fire was contained to a small part of the roof. Crews were on scene for an hour checking for fire extension and conducting salvage ops.

FYI – Smoke in the area is from the numerous Hazard Reductions Currently underway around the region. As the weather is perfect to carry out these operations there will be more Hazard Reductions undertaken over the coming week, this may keep the smoke hanging around. (North of Hawkesbury Rd, Between Whitecross Rd and Booker Rd) Smoke will be very visible from this burn. Last night numerous Members from Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade and members of other Blue Mountains RFS Brigades, were awarded thier National Medals and other long Service medals at a ceremony in Lawson. Winmalee RFB would like to congratulate every single one of you, for your Dedication, commitment and hard work that you have put into the Service. Well Done!

Last night Winmalee 1B, PC and RP445 responded to a large oil spill along Singles Ridge Road, Winmalee. Crews were in attendance for 45 mins, making the area safe.

During last nights Incident, Winmalee 1B was released and responded to reports of a MVA near Hawkesbury Lookout. Upon investigation nothing was found.

Last night Winmalee Pumper, 1B, RP445, T445, P98, Endevour Energy and Sydney Water responded to an AFA at the Winmalee STP. On arrival crews found the main power switching room had a fire in it. BA crews from FRNSW and RFS stood by and made the area safe and waited the arrival of the power company.

FYI – Parts of Winmalee are currently experiencing power black outs.
