Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade added 16 new photos to the album: 19.10.2013 WINMALEE.

With 95% of the impacted area assessed it has been confirmed that 193 properties have been destroyed and a further 109 properties damaged in the Winmalee Fires. Our thoughts are with all those affected.

If anyone has photos or video of The Winmalee fire please private message them to us. So we can place them on the page. Also we are endeavouring to answer all your questions but there will be a delay as our main priority is firefighting. Last but not least THANKYOU for all your kind words, support and encouragement, we have a long road ahead but as a community we will get there.

Latest Update –
More than 280 firefighters continue to work on containing The Linksview Road Fire in Springwood which has now burnt more than 2,100 hectares of bushland. This fire is now listed at Watch and Act.

Earlier today Multi-Agency Building Impact Assessment Teams, lead by the NSW RFS, inspected properties around Springwood and Winmalee. At this stage, 81 properties have been destroyed, with 37 damaged. Approximately 30 percent of the fireground has been assessed. The number of properties damaged or destroyed will rise.

PetsFriends at Winmalee vet 47544333 and at Faulconbridge 47516388, has set up a register for lost and found animals. They will also treat any pets or wildlife injured by the fire by no charge.

A collection point for clothes, shoes and food has been organised at Winmalee Neighbourhood Centre 62 Whitecross Road Winmalee. If you can help with any of these items pleas drop them off. Please spread the word and post it your Facebook page. Tell as many people as you can.

Limited access Singles Ridge Road – As of 1600hrs access for local residents only has opened for Singles Ridge Road. Please drive carefully in the area and watch out for emergency and other services.
