Tonight Winmalee 1A and RP445 were responded to reports of a fire in the Lee Rd area. RP445 was first on scene and quickly worked out, that it was a call in good faith and a stop was placed on the call.

Getting in early and on behalf of all our members we would like to wish our wonderful community a very Merry Christmas! We would also like to take this chance to thank each and every one of you for the amazing support we have received in this past year, especially in the times of hardship. A TOTAL FIRE BAN Is now in force.

FYI – Here is a map of the predicted smoke drift for tonight and tomorrow from the fires in the Putty.

TOTAL FIRE BAN has been declared for the Greater Sydney Region Including the Blue Mountains, for Monday 23/12/2013. More information will be posted soon.

FYI ONLY – The smoke haze around Winmalee and other parts of the Mountains is from Fires burning in Lithgow area and around the Putty. There are currently no fires burning in the Mountains. Please remember if you see a unattended fire please dial 000 immediately.

Thanks for making OUR day a lot of fun as well. We had a ball and it was a nice diversion from chasing smoking logs all over the countryside. Chasing your smiles was much more fun.
