Today Winmalee 1A responded to reports of a land slip on the Hawkesbury Bends, Hawkesbury Heights. A small slip was found, this slip is not effecting any lanes, it has been taped off and RMS are sending a inspection team to check the area. Please also note there is large amounts of water over the Bends.

Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade added 2 new photos.
Looks like we might be in for a bit of wet and windy weather. The BOM is predicting a East Coast Low to form off the NSW coast over the next few days. The BOM is predicting between 50mm to 100mm of rain to fall in our general area. But as these Low pressure systems are very hard to predict, it may come with more or less rain. BOM is also predicting winds over 50km per hour, but again this is only a prediction.

Residents across Greater Western Sydney, the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands can expect to see helicopters surveying powerlines over the next two months as part of Endeavour Energy’s safety preparations.

The Story of “Hot Pans on Fire”.
Every Australian will remember the terrible and tragic Victorian bushfires of February 2009, in which 173 people died and 414 were injured.
After the fire, residents of the town of Marysville got together to form the steelband “Pans on Fire”. Many of the band members had lost their homes and all of their belongings.
