At 2:30pm today Winmalee Pumper responded to a tree across power lines halfway down Heather Road. The area was cordoned off and residents advised to stay indoors. The lines had not fallen but there was a risk that the continuing wind might do further damage. FRNSW Lawson brigade also attended and Winmalee was released to attend to a further call.
As at 6pm the power in Heather Road was still out as the energy company removes the branch. Power should be restored shortly.
A second call to a similar situation in Singles Ridge Road was dealt with quickly and all vehicles returned to station.
Please treat fallen power lines as ALWAYS LIVE until advised otherwise by the energy company. Stay a safe distance and phone 000.
The 2:30 call was in deed to Heather Rd not Heather Glen Rd… There were also trees down near Ellison public school, Yellow Rock Road and many other locations in the region although these calls were shared between FRNSW, SES and RFS resources

Definitely Heather Road, thanks Amy. You may be confused with the Singles Ridge Road job.
