15 minutes into the New Year and Winmalee 1A and Springwood Fire & Rescue NSW were paged and responded to reports of Bush alight behind Winmalee High School. A small fire was located and crews extinguished the fire.

A timely reminder as well folks. Please ensure you have a permit before any backyard burning and while fireworks are fun they are also illegal and potentially dangerous in residential areas. Happy New Year to All from the members of Winmalee Brigade.
